Artventure is a Guildford based charity enabling adults with learning disability, physical impairment and autism to be creative, have fun, and make new friends in a safe and sociable environment. We are currently offering free taster days so why not come along to see what we do! Call 01483 304884 to find out more.
What We Do
Practising artists and volunteers help participants develop both creative and social skills. All areas of the visual arts are explored including painting, textiles, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. The positive and supportive atmosphere encourages self-confidence and independence.
Volunteers are always most welcome at The Artventure Trust, regardless of age or experience. A few hours of your time can make a real difference. We have volunteers from all walks of life, so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you think you are interested in getting involved.
Our fees only cover part of our costs with the rest coming from grants and donations. The National Lottery and Arts Council England have been tremendously supportive but in many ways it's the smaller donations that can make all the difference. Please help in any way you can.
In september 2013, The Electric Theatre in Guildford asked Artventure to design and paint a mural showing "Community".
After many months of hard work, the 32-metre project was unveiled by the Mayor in June 2015.
Painted by some of the area's most vulnerable children and adults, it is a tribute to the power of art to change lives. Find out more.
Wonders of Nature is Artventure’s first photograph exhibition with images by Peter Elliott, Lucy Badham and Neil Hayward
The exhibition is on display at the Electric Theatre in downtown Guildford from 22nd May to 15 June, then in Cranleigh Arts Centre from 18th to 28th June.
One of our participants, Abby Conlon, will be having a Solo Exhibition at The Electric Theatre on the 26th April to 30th May. She is a truly diverse artist with a very distinguished style and has been creating unique artwork at Artventure for many years. Come along, have a coffee and see her wonderful pieces. On Wednesday 8th May there is a unique opportunity to meet Abby at the theatre at 7.00pm. We may even offer you a glass of prosecco!
Artventure is proud to be part of Surrey Artists Open Studio from the 1st-16th June. Our exhibition will be open from 9.30am to 5.00pm every day from Monday to Saturday. Over 100 artworks of more than 30 of our artists will be on display. This year we will be part of Ochre Print Studio’s Wild West Trail. On Sunday 9th June all of the studios on the trail will be open, so it will be a great opportunity to visit a few of them. On Thursday, 13th June we will be providing a Dry Felting workshop from 4.00pm to 8.00pm for a voluntary £5 donation. This is also a great day to visit the exhibition and also take part in the workshop.
